Zayna "Well that was one heck of a wake up call," I said, standing up and shaking my head. "No kidding," Levi replied, smiling. I couldn't help but smile back as I scoffed. "You're.. crazy. You know that?" I half teased. He shrugged nonchanonchly (?) "I did what needed to be done," he replied. "Even if it meant we could've died?" I asked in disbelief. He looked at me and grinned. "What's life without some adventure here and there?" he answered. I shook my head as my lips lifted in a small smile, knowing he didn't expect an answer. "You're an idiot!" I scoffed, shoving him in the chest.

((I'm just going to wing this very badly cause my cat is sleeping on me and I can't reach my writing stuff))
Levi "You're an idiot!" Zayna scoffed, placing her hands in the middle of my chest she shoved backwards. My heel slipped off of the edge of the wet log and I snatched her wrists in my palms, she instantly pulled away from me and backed away to the other edge of the log. I looked at her wide-eyed when we both stopped falling because the only way we were still on the log is because we were basically holding each other there on the edges of it. My grip tightened slightly as I let out a short laugh. "Well I guess that makes two of us." I retorted, glancing down nervously at the foaming rapids white-capping at my ankles.

Zayna "You're an idiot!" I scoffed, shoving him in the chest without thinking. I instantly regretted it when his heels slipped backwards off the log. He reached out and clasped his hands around my wrists, causing me to start to fall forward as well so I quickly jumped back, landing on the other edge of the log. I held onto him as he held onto me, basically keeping each other from falling into the marshy rapids. Levi let out a short laugh. "Well I guess that makes two of us," he retorted, causing me to make a face. I looked around, trying to figure out how we could get out of this sticky situation. "Listen, I'm going to try to slowly pull you up enough so that you can pull me up as well. Then we can get off this cursed log," I explained. "Work with me here.." Mustering up all of my strength, I planted my feet against the far side of the log and yanked up on Levi's wrists, praying he didn't let me go to fall into the water as he pulled himself up.

Levi "Well, I guess that makes two of us." I retorted, glancing down nervously at the foaming rapids white-capping at my ankles. She made a face at me. She started to look around as she hatched a plan in her mind. "Listen, I'm going to *try* to slowly pull you up enough so that you can pull me up as well. Then we can get off this cursed log," she explained. "Work with me here. . ." I nodded and adjusted me feet a little for more leverage. Zayna squared up and then yanked on my wrists with all of her strength. I lurched forward further than I was expecting and ended up nearly doing the splits on the log, but thankfully I was able to plant me knees in front of me. I slowly brought Zayna's wrists closer to me, pulling her up carefully until we were both upright on the log again. "Okay, before that happens again, let's get the hell away from here." I said eagerly.

As I pulled, he lurched forward and almost lost his footing, causing him to nearly do the splits on the log. Luckily, he was able to plant his knees in front of himself and catch his balance before either one of us fell over again. As I stood waiting, he slowly brought my wrists closer to him, pulling me up carefully until we were both upright on the log again. "Okay, before that happens again, let's get the hell away from here." Levi said eagerly. I nodded in agreement and carefully backed off of the tree trunk; watching my feet the whole time as Levi followed suit behind me. “So.. where to now?” I questioned as I jumped onto solid ground.

Levi "Okay, before that happens again, let's get the hell away from here." I said eagerly. Zayna nodded in agreement and carefully backed off of the tree trunk. I followed her without hesitation, making sure to watch where I was stepping. "So. . . Where to now?" She questioned as her feet hit solid ground. "Well, to start with I guess we'd better find somewhere to hide and figure this all out. We have at least an hour before they find a clear path down." I answered. I hopped off the tree trunk and back onto the bank. My boots sunk into the mud and I walked to the edge of the forest where the ground was more firm.

“Well, to start with, I guess we should find somewhere to hide and figure all this out. We have at least a couple of hours before the guards find a clear path down,” Levi replied, jumping off of the tree trunk and walking to solid ground. I looked around us. “We could stake out in the trees,” I suggested. “They’re high up and it'd give us an advantage being above the guards. Plus, there’s a water supply not two feet away.”

Levi “We could stake out in the trees,” She suggested. “They’re high up and it'd give us an advantage being above the guards. Plus, there’s a water supply not two feet away.” I looked up at a big oak that was near by and nodded in approval. "Or," I said, "maybe we could climb to the top and try to scope out a city or some kind of landmark that we could walk to. We really don't have any idea where we are anyway."

“Or maybe we could climb to the top and try to scope out a city we could walk to," Levi suggested. "We really don't have any idea where we are anyway." “Levi, we’re in the middle of nowhere. Do you honestly think the government would put us anywhere close to shelter? That'd make things way too easy,” I responded, trying to think logically.

Levi "Look, there has to be a city around here somewhere, or at least something, and we can't just hide out here forever. We have to come up with some kind of plan and we can't do that without a checkpoint." I said, trying to make her understand.

“Look, there has to be a city around here somewhere and we can’t just hide out forever. We have to come up with a plan of action and we can’t do that without a checkpoint,” Levi replied, condescendingly. I sighed in frustration, knowing that there would be no city anywhere close to us. The government was smarter and crueler than that. "I understand that," I answered. "But- Ugh never mind. We'll do it your way. But if it blows up in our faces, we'll know who to blame."
((OMG FORESHADOWING!!!!! xD xD xD xD xD xD xD))

Levi "Hey, it can't hurt just to check. I'll give you a boost to that branch over there if you want to get into that tree." I told her, glancing at a branch that was just out of reach but a good starting point for climbing. I wiped my hands on the pants of my soaked jumpsuit and looked at Zayna expectantly.

Zayna "Oh please," I scoffed at him. Locating a different branch to grab, I jumped up and wrapped my hands around it, pulling myself up with ease. “I’m perfectly capable of climbing a tree, thank you,” I said curtly as I climbed higher into the green tipped branches, hoping I left him semi impressed. People often underestimated my capabilities because of my smaller frame, and I hated it.

Levi I watched as Zayna jumped up and caught a branch between her hands and pulled herself up like a professional. "I'm perfectly capable of climbing a tree, thank you," she said curtly as she weaved through the wintery plumes of the tree. "Well, I guess I didn't realize you were part monkey." I mused, cocking an eyebrow. I stepped to the side to watch her face as a few rays of sunshine made it through the trees and lit up her eyes. "Can you see anything yet?" I asked.
