Echo gave him a small smile, not sure if she would take him up on his offer. But, it was good to have another option in case she really did want to run.

Ray carried on with his business until there was no excuse left to stay on the ship. He left, hoping that Echo would follow him.

Echo glanced around at the people working on deck. Everyone seemed preoccupied, and she felt like she was just in the way. She sighed and after a moment of thought, decided to go after Ray. She hadn't decided to run away with him... But she at least wanted to talk with him more. Who knew if her memory was ever going to come back? Maybe it was time to start a new life.

Ray owas walking down the pier with the other members of his crew when echo decided to tag along. His crew was fairly slow moving, since they were lugging along boxes of assorted items. The special carts they pulled had open spaces on them to allow for auctioning off of items as they moved, which occasionally required them to stop.

"Ray!" She called after him, jogging to his side. "Is it okay if I walk with you for a bit?"

Ray smiled, surprised to see her bounding down the street. "Of course my dear." He answered, "But I must say, I'm a bit surprised. What changed your mind?"

"Well, I havent really made a decision yet. But I wanted to talk with you more," she told him. "It's refreshing to talk to someone who didn't know me before I lost my memory."

Ray looked down at her, a bit confused. "Well Miss Smith, I'm not sure what you thought I was offering, but I promise it was nothing more than a brief stay away from your stress. I would be happy to whisk you away on my boat away from all your worries, but I am aware that it's not quite realistic." He chuckled, "Nor smart, for you to allow such a thing." He winked, the grin not leaving his face. "You're welcome aboard my ship anytime, and welcome to leave it too." He walked along, stopping briefly to look out at the ocean. "We've all got a past Miss Smith, but I like to live in the now. Life is too short to live with regrets or worries, oui?" He glanced back at her, curious.

She smiled widely, nodding, "Oui.I agree," she said, looking up at him.

Ray smiled back at her, "Parlez-tu francias?" He asked her, liking how the sunlight glinted off her short red hair.

Echo nodded, giving him a smile. "I'm not sure when I learned it. But apparently I do speak it."

Ray smiled even more, "You are quite fascinating, you know." Ray said while they walked. They were almost to his ship, and he could see the modest sails in the breeze from where they were. "You're very different than most women, and not just because of the amnesia thing." He chuckled at the absurdity of what he'd said. "Most would assume you're playing some angle, lying to me to deceive me, but you're...I feel like I can trust you." He told her, "I hope you prove me a good judge of character."

Echo grinned up at him, "Well, we'll just have to find out, won't we?" she asked, winking at him.

Ray grinned back at her, "I suppose we will." He replied, his eyes shining with mischief and laughter. "We're almost to my ship." He told her, pointing.

"Ah, well, I probably should leave you once we get to your ship. You're staying in town for a few more days though, right?"
