I nodded slightly, and my mind traveled to the 'what have you done' question. What had he done to earn a place of solitude? Not just prison but solitude. What unquestionably horrible thing had he done? And what was he capable of? I didn't know anything about him except that he would kill without remorse, without feeling. Is that what he had done? Had he killed people? People of high stature or ranking? I looked up at him and saw he was glancing down at me. His eyes were kind but wondering.. How could this boy be a killer? "What?" I asked a bit self-consciously.

My cheeks flush a light shade of red for a second. "Uh, nothing... Sorry." I apologize quickly. I look down at the ground embarrasedly.(Idk how to spell that :S)
((Hehe, I hate it when that happens xD Sorry though, that one was kind of my fault lol But dude! I got my license!!! Whoop whoop! But I had to wake up at 5:40 to get there before it opened so we wouldn't have to wait in line. And we still had like three people in front of us but once the doors finally opened it didn't take that long x) But I don't like my picture xD my face looks fat!!! Dx))

I shrugged. "You know we both want to ask," I said softly, wondering if it'd be more or him who finally broke and asked. I sighed and jumped over a tall tree root, a small whimper leaving my mouth as my stomach wound flared up in pain. Okay, jumping: bad idea.

I felt a sudden heaviness fill my lungs. The coldness that had just settled over me was enough to make me ignore her cry of pain. Step by step I slowed down stiffly until I had reached a stop. A few uncertain breaths passed through my lips before I got up the nerve to look her in the vibrant green eyes. I wore an expression of worry and unwillingness as I searched her face for anyway out of this topic. I waited tensely for her to say the words that I knew were coming...

I breathed in deeply and let it out slowly, the pain being erased by some new sensation. I wasn't sure what just dawned on me but I suddenly felt very confident and sure of what I wanted to do. I stopped dead in my tracks and looked at Levi's back, waiting for him to notice I had stopped walking. When he finally did, I looked deep into his eyes, searching for answers. I stood up straighter and crossed my arms, looking level at him. With complete authority I said, "What did you do to get a jail sentence?"

The words felt like they didn't exist, even though I knew exactly how to answer them. I was reminded of what I did every day. The punishment made sure of that. There was just something about admitting it to someone that didn't already know that made me want to avoid the question completely. I frowned and breathed in deeply through my nose as I looked at the ground for an answer and placed my hands on my hips. I let out my breath and looked her in the eyes again.
"Why don't you tell me first?" I counter, making it completely obvious with my tone that I wasn't going to talk unless she did.
((Haha, sorry, I had to turn the question on her xD))

I glared at Levi, knowing very well what he was doing. But I decided to give in and tell him because I could put it very simply without giving away any actual answers. "What did I do?" I asked pointing to myself angrily as I slowly got louder and louder. "I am the daughter of two rebels. I was born into a family that went against the government. That's what I did! I never knew anything else!" By that time I was basically yelling. I took a deep breath and let it out slowly, anger tears pricking the edge of my eyes. Thinking of my parents always made me a bit emotional. I put a hand to my forehead and looked around at nothing. Eventually I sank to the ground and whispered. "I never had a chance at anything but a life sentence in jail.."

Her eyes pierced me for a moment before she started talking. I listened to her story quietly feeling confused at first. Then I remembered that the government isn't exactly known for making any amount of good sense. I started to frown as she got choked up. She sank to the ground and whispered about never having a chance and I started to feel numb all over again. She honestly hadn't done anything to deserve this. That would explain why she tried so hard not to get into any fights and why she was so upset about what I had to do at the cave, it was because she'd never been the type of person to do those things in the first place. Basically she was completely innocent if what she was saying was true.
"I'm... I'm sorry." I stammer softly. I didn't know how to comfort her, so I stayed where I was and looked away.

I let out a small scoff, a smile playing at my lips. I shook my head at him. "Don't be. You have no reason to be sorry for anything.," I told him. I don't know what happened next, but I felt a sudden sense of peace among us. My mouth opened and I couldn't stop the words from coming out. The words of my parent's story. "I uh.. My parents.. They were amazing people. They stood up for what they believed in and didn't care about the consequences. Their beliefs couldn't be altered. They wanted the government to fall, not so chaos would arise but in the hope that a better nation could form. One with justice and fairness and equalness for everyone. When they were younger they uh.. they used to go to riots and secret missions to vandalize government property and to sneak into places to get locked information. They were very passionate about what they did.. But then..I came alone. And.. they did less and less in the idea that they were protecting me. Eventually they stopped altogether." I paused and cleared my throat, looking up at Levi to see his expression.

"They didn't get caught for their crimes exactly," I replied. "It's.. Hard, and difficult, to explain and to talk about too." I was silent for a moment, shaking my head without really knowing why.

((They were killed in the riot that Levi started that took out half of the city he was in. That's the same riot that he got arrested for. #Mockingjay #Rebellion))

I tried to refrain from apologizing again since she brushed it off last time. I just looked at her sympathetically, trying to understand what she meant. Was she imprisoned as ransom? Or was that the government's way of punishing people they couldn't find? By taking away what they love most... (Those last two sentences totally made me think of CJ's story right now xD)

((Haha! Have you ever written more to that?? And yeah I remember that much. But I'm trying to remember what happened. Cuz I know they were like on a picnic and her parents saw the riot so they joined in and like her mom tried to save her when the people started shooting... But I can't remember EXACTLY ya know??))
