I watched her point out where she thought we were and made sure that it at least lined up with the direction the compass was pointing. It seemed like she could be right. "Okay, so we just head north until we get there... Looks like it's a long way from here though." I point out. |

I nodded in agreement. "We can do it though. We're both smart enough to survive in the wild," I replied. "Plus we have some good supplies here," I motioned towards the backpacks. "Just say when and we'll be off. Depending on how much we walk, we could be there in 4 or 5 days tops."

"And the guards? Don't you think they'll corner us at some point or another?" I ask. I settle into a more serious composure for a moment. "Honestly, I think if we just keep running from them that sooner or later we're going to reach the end of the line. It's going to happen one way or another eventually, probably, but what if we tried to make a plan *against* these guys instead of *away* from them?"

I shrugged. "We can probably outrun them or outsmart them for the time being. I don't see the need to make a plan against them because you know that's only gonna lead to either us or them being dead. Gone forever. Why make that unnecessary chance when we could just keep going and avoid them altogether?" |

I stretched out a little, testing how bad the pain was. Luckily, the pills had kicked in and the pain was just a dull thud in the distance. "I'll be fine to go on for a while," I told him. "But we better head out as soon as possible, considering the fact that we have a long journey and we don't even know how much longer we'll live," I pointed out, remembering what Karissity had told us back at her headquarters. I started picking our things up, putting them away in the backpack, but left out two of the multiple knives. I picked them up and put one in in the right combat boot and the other in one of my pockets, just for protections sake.

"Right..." I reply somewhat numbly. The whole being-stuck-in-a-vast-emptiness-forever thing was hitting pretty hard the more I kept realizing what the odds of coming out of this alive were. I dumped the stuff back into the backpack and zipped it up, letting it rest on my right shoulder since the left was still sore. At least it had stopped bleeding. I held the compass in my hand and looked at the quivering needle again."So I guess we just head north." I say.

Where we have to cross that is about halfway between us and the prison. And unless or until we get anymore surprise attacks, that should be the only obstacle we have to worry about," I noted.

"No doubt, the guards will catch up at some point. But as for the lake I guess we'll just have to go around it." I say as I started to walk. "We should probably come up with a plan for tonight. I doubt we can just camp out in the open, and I don't think there are any caves out here we could sleep in... Do you think we could climb up into the trees?"

"Well I would say yeah, because I'm usually a pretty amazing climber, as I'm sure you are too. Plus, it would give us an advantage if anyone did come trying to sneak up on us. But we're both injured," I pointed out. "Could you even pull yourself up with only one good shoulder?"
