The year is 4239. Many things about the world have changed. The maps, of course, and a large amount of the technology have.
However, one of the most important would be the people. Aliens are known to exist, and there are a few people who are even born with different mutations- wings, tails, claws, etc. Anyone who is considered out of the norm is highly discriminated against; the justification is that they are not technically completely human. Twenty-six years ago the prejudice took a turn for the worse: all those who were somehow different from 'normal' humans were rounded up and imprisoned in camps. Remind anyone of anything? But it seems they have forgotten lessons learned from the past.
The camps are brutal places to live. Located in remote mountain ranges and deserts, there is little chance of survival if one managed to escape. Details of what exactly goes on are unclear, but everyone knows that that is the last place they want to be sent.
So who are we? We are the people who evaded capture. We all began on our own, on the run from the government. Mainly, the Human Society- innocent sounding enough, but these are the people whose job it is to track us down.
Anyway, one by one we met each other, and eventually we became the group we are now. We help each other, and it's safer in numbers- but, even though some of us won't admit it, the main reason that we're together is that we were lonely. Lonely, and excluded from society.
Just for clarification, this takes place in America.
UPDATE: it is now 4240
RULES:
1. No godmodding without permission, unless it is absolutely necessary.
2. Please ask if you're uncertain of something. I don't want it to happen where someone makes a bio and then has to re-do it because they messed up something important.
3. Fill out all necessary parts of the bio
4. No Mary Sues or Gary Stus
5. Personally, I like it when someone adds a twist to the story. Just ask, please, if it's drastic, and don't sway too much from the plot. Make it interesting though!
6. Don't make it all romance. A little is good, too much just kills it.
7. Keep genders relatively even
8. If you read these, put the word Different at the top of your bio.
9. Good grammar, please. A few mistakes are okay, but no text talk and none of this: *sits down and smiles*. Minimal one-liners are also preferred.
UPDATE: Height line-up!
