She did a mental count in her head. "Well... I don't know what the date is today, but I'm fairly certain it was about a two or three months ago. The prince has yet to ascend to his throne, so I was able to stay with my parents afterwards." It was a bit of an odd arrangement, but it worked out, since the prince was two countries over on official business. She didn't want to live in an unfamiliar country anyways. "he's off on official business right now, so I bet he doesn't even know I'm missing yet."

Archer nodded slowly, “So is that part of the reason why you ran away then?” He asked

Archer smiled a bit, "Bet you've broken the poor mans heart running away like this." He laughed, teasing her. "What do you say we continue our work?" He asked

"I assure you, the only thing he will be upset about is the fact that with me gone, he no longer has claim to my kingdom."

Archer smiled a bit, “Said like a true princess.” He stood straight. “I’m glad you’re no longer burdened by that marriage tho.”

"Don't tell anyone, alright?" She stood. "Let's get back to work." She gave him a smile and began to walk out of the kitchen.

Archer grinned, “don’t tell anyone what?” He asked innocently, walking out behind her. He caught his grin widening as she shot a look over her shoulder at him. “Just a few more hours and hopefully we’ll be finished.” At least for the day that was. Soon their shift would be over and they could both rest.

"Thank god," she murmured, looking at her hands. All of the cuts and blisters were really starting to hurt. "So," she asked, looking back at him. "What's next?"

Archer and Echo worked methodically for the rest of the day. They succeeded in accomplishing most of what Archer had wanted, but her hands had suffered. He had allowed her to work and judge her ability on her own, however he knew that she would likely be of little assistance tomorrow due to the aching which would ensue from their overuse. "Why don't you have Jane take a look at those? She can likely give you something to wrap them in which will soothe the burning." It was a gentle suggestion, but one which he hoped she took. "They look as if they pain you."

She looked down at her hands and nodded. "okay. I'll go find her and see," she gave him a smile. "Thanks for letting me help you today." Echo left soon after that, walking to the infirmary. She knocked on the door, hoping Jane would be there.

Jane opened the door, smiling a bit as she saw Echo. "Oh! Good I was wanting to have another look at those!" She reached for Echo's wrist, pulling her into the room gently. "Let me just take these bandages off."

Echo held out her hands for Jane so she could remove the bandages. "They're pretty beat up," she admitted.

Jane sighed a bit as she examined them. "I've seen worse." She told her with an easy smile. "I'll put some pumice on them which should ease the ache, but you'll have to wait for it while it boils." Jane made quick work of gathering the right herbs into a towel, tying a cord around it before placing it into the boiling cauldron she already had sitting over a warming fire.

“Thank you,” Echo said, leaning against the wall as she waited. “So... how long have you been on the ship?”
