She stood there, making no movement as she backed away slowly "I think I'm going to stay home tomorrow, we can still work on the project after school though" she looked up at him, a single tear falling down her face

He shrugged, "I guess so," he responded and felt his phone go off. He answered the phone and once he hung up said, "I gotta go," he too his bike to his house and ran inside, to get more ammo.

Ari watched him before going inside and locking her door. She went to her room and turned on the light, dropping her back as she sat on the floor and curled up.

She must have sat in the middle of her floor for hours, eventually getting up to turn off the light and returning to sit there. Her mom was off on a date. This was her way of coping and she didn't know what else to do.
