Lennox "Right now?" Nixon asked, raising an eyebrow. "You." He stood up and put his hands behind his back, looking down at Xera in a bored manner. Erynn walked over next to Xera and placed a hand lightly on her shoulder. "Xera, keep it together," she whispered quietly, her blonde hair whipping around her face. A loud clap of thunder boomed in the sky and lightning flashed, lighting us all up for a moment as Xera shook off Erynn's hand. "What's the point anymore?" she asked angrily. "Hmm? This greedy, uncaring low-life is gonna get us all killed anyway. He doesn't care about any of us. To him we're just little pawns in his game; pieces he can toy with and use at his disposal. The members of the Grey Team were the weakest of us and he knew it. He knew and he didn't care because it didn't matter to him if they lived or died. How do we know it won't be us next?" I walked closer, standing behind Xera protectively as Erynn ventured over between us. I knew that Nixon didn't, no wouldn't, let anyone talk to him like that, exposing his nature, without consequences.

Nixon "Are you kidding me?" I asked incredulously. I narrowed my eyes and stepped closer to her but Erynn moved between us and placed her hand on my chest, looking away as she held me back. "You have no idea what you're talking about. I was giving Grey Team a chance to put their training to use! I didn't expect it to turn into that!" I pushed against Erynn's hand as I motioned behind me to the cave. "Stop it!" Erynn exclaimed, shouting over a clap of thunder. She looked around at all of us. "Okay? Nixon is doing the best he can! We're all upset about Grey Team, even him, believe it or not- but he had no way of knowing it'd end up like this. It's not his fault that they're dead, it's Levi and Zayna! They're the enemies!" She took a deep breath and swept her hair back. I pushed past her and poked an accusing finger into Xera's chest. I glared at her with a look that could kill. "You need to learn your place." I told her through gritted teeth. "I wouldn't put any of your lives at risk for no reason but if you speak out like that again, you won't know what hit you."

Lennox "You need to learn your place," he told her through gritted teeth. By now Xera had calmed down and I could see her eyes sparkling with mischief instead of anger. "I wouldn't put any of your lives at risk for no reason but if you speak out like that again, you won't know what hit you." I looked to Xera and saw her smile at him; not a sweet, obeying smile but a deadly, threatening one. "You're right. I better behave or the big bad wolf is gonna get me.. Right?" she murmured tauntingly. I wasn’t sure what she was planning but I knew she was in for it now.

Nixon I looked at Xera and gave her a sideways grin. "You know, I know your father, Xera, and I doubt he'd approve of this type of behavior either. It'd be a shame if I got a hold of him and had him file the disciplinary report for me. Wouldn't it?" I removed my finger from her chest with a little push and then smirked. I knew very well that her father was high up in the ranks and took punishment very seriously, especially for his own daughter. I thought that'd stop her in her tracks. but Xera wasn't close to done yet.

Wouldn't it?" He removed his finger from her chest with a little push and then smirked. All of us knew very well that her father was high up in the government ranks and took punishment very seriously, especially for his own daughter. Rumor had it that he had offed his own wife and other two daughters when Xera was a young child. To bring him up was a low blow and I expected it to throw Xera off. But it did the complete opposite; just adding fuel to her fire. “Please,” Xera scoffed, her voice confident. “You wanna bring up daddy issues? YOUR dad didn’t even want you.” I held my breath, unsure of how Nixon would react to his own father being dragged into this conversation.

Nixon I felt my grin falter for a second as she said that. It was true, my father left when I was five years old but I couldn't care less about him. Still, I didn't care how she knew that but it was a harsh retort and I wasn't gonna let her get away with it. After a moment of suspenseful silence I broke out into clipped laughter. I shook my head at her. "Do you even know what I do for a living? You know, aside from this." I asked, stepping closer so she'd have to take a step back. I leaned in as I wrung my hands behind my back in a effort to keep them there. "I make it a mission to ruin people's lives. I get paid to do it, and I'm very good at my job. So before you step out of line, maybe you should know exactly who you're talking to." I nodded once with an intimidating look straight into her fiery, brown eyes.

Lennox He nodded once as if that would end the conversation but boy was he wrong. “You think you can scare me?” Xera asked in disbelief. She rolled her shoulders back and stood tall with a stance that showed she wasn’t going to back down. Every word she said had a new edge to it as she spoke in a low voice. “You may get paid to ruin people’s lives but mine was ruined a long time ago. I’ve already lived through hell and back so you best believe that your egotistically based threats have no affect on me whatsoever!”

Nixon "No, you haven't seen hell yet." I mused in a low, menacing tone. I knew my own personal hell, I lived through it every day and learned exactly how to wield it. Straightening up in a slow, stiff manner, I narrowed my eyes at her in contemplation as I gave her a detached, hollow grin. "If I didn't need you for this training right now, you'd already be there- and that's a promise."

Lennox "Don't try to use paranoia on me Nixon. I promise it’ll get you nowhere. Like you said, you NEED me for this mission. You NEED Lennox and Erynn too. Wanna know why?" she asked so quietly, I could barely hear her. Her eyes danced around as a flash of lightning lit up around us. "Because we're better than you. We may not be leader material, but we are KILLER material. Any one of us could easily break you in half and make the government think it was just an accident. Is that what you want, Nixon? To have an accident?" Lightning lit up the sky once again, making her eyes flash with a brilliant light as a shiver went down my spine. Xera could be your best friend; someone who could make you feel better in an instant. But she could also be your worst nightmare. The fire inside of her could jump out in an instant, making her pretty darn scary. But that's what I loved about her. She could push anyone in the government and not worry about the consequences, because they knew she was one of their most valued fighters.

Nixon "You think I got to where I am by being inadequate?" I asked with a scoff. "I'm just as dangerous as any of you, if not, more. I wasn't given this rank because I had the brains for it, I've proven exactly what I'm capable of. While you might have your specialty, I've been putting mine to use a lot longer. I hold the reigns here! I own you." I built up my speech until I was shouting and then I grabbed her by the front of her vest, pulling her to me. I leaned in close and whispered fiercely in her ear, past her flowing mahogany hair. "I can think of ways to break you that not even you can imagine. I've done it to people before, and I can easily do it again without any help." I shoved her backwards into Lennox and stand back with cold eyes blazing. Erynn plunged in front of me, gripping my vest and putting a hand out towards Xera to keep her from lunging back.
((This is all I have for now, I have to go eat dinner! I'll finish with Erynn's part when I get back!!! Sorry! ))

Nixon (Part 2) "This is over." She said strictly. The look on her face dared anyone to make a move, she looked like she was about to snap. "Both of you need to get a grip, right now. We don't have time to stand around here arguing with this storm coming in. We need to get back to the mission, so can you guys play like good children until this is over? Please?" She asked exasperatedly, pleading with her eyes as she looked around at us.

Lennox He let go of her, shoving her into me. I caught her quickly so she wouldn't fall and looked back up at Nixon, whose eyes were blazing. Xera's eyes flashed and she let out a strangled scream as she got free from my arms. Before anything else could happen, Erynn put herself in front of Nixon to stop him from doing anything else to Xera and to keep Xera from lunging at him. "This is over." She said strictly, the look on her face daring anyone to make a move. "Both of you need to get a grip, right now. We probably have five minutes max until it start pouring out here and we're standing around arguing. So let's play along nicely like good children and just move on." She glares at all of us, upset at the fighting. "Can we please just do that?" She asked, her eyes pleading with every one of us. I sighed, knowing we had to stop this. If we turned on each other, we'd all be punished when we got back to base. I put one of my hands on Xera’s shoulder firmly. She whipped her head around at me, her eyes narrowed into slits. I shook my head slightly and stared back at her intently. She set her jaw and huffed out a sigh of anger. “Whatever,” she snarled towards Nixon. “You’re not worth it anyway.” And with that she shrugged away from my touch and stomped down the path a little. I cut one last look at Nixon before turning on my heel to follow Xera where she had plopped down on a large rock. I knelt in the dirt next to her so we were sitting side by side and glanced over at her as she ran her hands through her tangled hair. She took a deep breath and watched the ground for a few seconds before the anger in her eyes finally faded until they were a dim light in the back ground. "Are you okay?" I asked her. "You know you shouldn't push Nixon that way. That's the fuel to his fire." "I know THAT! But what am I supposed to do?" she hissed back at me, throwing her hands up in the air. "Just let him think he owns us? That he can do whatever whenever?" "No, I agree that he needs to be taught a little lesson in the art of equality. But not now, not in the middle of our mission," I replied. "Just keep your distance and try to act professional. The government chose us to be on this mission for a reason and we need to live up to that. Ok?" She looked up at me, her lips set in a sad pout. "Okay," she agreed quietly. I nodded and gave her a reassuring smile as she put her head on my shoulder. We both looked up to watch the clouds swirl overhead as a rumble of thunder came from just overhead. We sat there, content to be away from Nixon until he gave us our next move and, then, the rain finally began to fall.

Nixon Lennox put a hand on Xera's shoulder and she whipped around and glared at him, warning him to let her go. He looked back at her intently while he shook his head. She set her jaw and then huffed out a sigh of anger, turning her glare back to me. "Whatever," She snarled. "You're not worth it anyway." And with that she shrugged out of Lennox's hold and stomped away. Lennox gave me one last look before he went to follow her. I leveled my head as I stared down after them with impertinence overflowing from my stare. When they disappeared from sight Erynn had still not removed her hand from it's grip on my vest and she stared down at the ground with her back still to me. "Let go." I told her. She tightened her grip instead and I could feel her shaking as her knuckles turned white. I lowered my gaze at her and then shoved her hand off. She turned slowly to look at me, with a look that ranged between contempt and sincere disapproval. "What do you think you're doing?" She asked me incredulously. I set my jaw and wondered if she was becoming as dull as Xera was. "What did she think she was doing? She stepped way out of rank Erynn, you can't just talk like that to your superior and get away with it." I explained. "Well, that's just how Xera is, she's just-" "She just needs to be taught a lesson." I said, starting to stalk over there with my hands curling and uncurling at my sides. I was done with talking. I'd passed Erynn so she had to run a few steps to catch up with me, grabbing my wrist. "Nixon, you can't go over there!" She exclaimed. "I can do whatever the hell I want." I said, trying to pull my wrist away. She latched on with her other hand and grunted as she clung onto me, trying to hold me back as she got a hold of my vest. I twisted and tried to shove her but I was met with a swift slap to the face. I stepped back looking at her with shock. She stared back, equally surprised and breathing rapidly. I stepped up to her and raised my hand to hit her back when suddenly she wrapped her hands around my neck and her lips dove straight into mine. I was to shocked to react but a moment later she pulled back and looked at me with a mix of confusion and something else that I didn't understand as her blonde strands blew across her face. I pulled my brows together, lost for words as we stared at each other and the first drops of rain fell from the sky.
((Eh, this last part was very poorly written, but that's okay because it doesn't effect the story at all for you, so shall we just go ahead and start the next chapter??? xD))

Zayna Levi and I had been trudging through the forest at a fast paste for some time now. A mixture of rain and snow flurries were falling hard all around us and strands of damp hair clung to my face. Despite how cold it was, I was having heat flashes, beads of sweat dripping down my face. My stomach had quit bleeding for a while but had started again when I jumped down from a rock, the motion tearing the cut wider. The woods blurred up around me and I stumbled over my own feet, grabbing onto a tree before I fell onto the muddy ground. I gasped for air as I connected my forehead to the bark of the tree trunk. "L-Levi," I called out hoarsely, not sure if he could even hear my weak voice over the noises surrounding us.

Levi I shivered against the wind as we carried on trudging through the woods. The snow was falling again in a mix or rain and I planned to stop as soon as we could find a little bit of cover. I also wanted as much distance between us and the cave as possible, or more so, what lay inside. The stolen backpack weighed heavily on my shoulders but it was full of supplies that we could use. I glanced back again at Zayna. She was soaking wet but last time I asked if she was okay she assured me she was fine for now. I turned back and walked a little further when I heard scuffling behind me. I turned and saw Zayna on the ground, clinging onto a tree. "L-Levi," She called out hoarsely as her shoulders rose and fell heavily with her breath. "Zayna, are you okay?" I asked as I came to her side, kneeling and dropping the backpack next to us.
